We are proud to announce that KHAMSIN, THE DEVIL WIND OF
THE NILE by Inge H. Borg is a B.R.A.G. Medallion Honoree. This tells a reader
that this book is well worth their time and money!
Wow! I could not put this book down! I thoroughly enjoyed this epic tale of power struggles, love, ancient religious ceremony, war, greed, secret prophecies, and nature's fury!
Unusual story line enjoyed it.
I have always been fascinated by ancient Egyptian history and love reading historical novels that relate to this. Khamsin: The Devil Wind of the Nile by Inge H. Borg is a great example of this type of fiction in its best form.
Borg is very much attuned to the terms of boats and sailing, but
readers have to ask themselves if it really is a Sirocco that is blowing on
Crete’s islands?
It really feels like there is an ominous big storm coming that
will destroy everything on its passage. Will Naunet be safe? Will she escape
the bad guys?
The book's cover is very clever. The painting depicts Storm on the Sea of Galilee by Rembrandt, which was stolen from
the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, Massachusetts and is a plea to
recover it and other stolen art works.
Ms Borg writes a beautiful story that has a little something for everyone: archaeological treasures, political intrigue, personal plotting and scheming, action and adventure, a little romance, and nature's wildest storms... We have the good guys we love... the despicable villains we abhor... and those sitting on the fence, we're not really sure where they stand in the grand scheme of things! She ties everything in seamlessly
While the plot has many fascinating twists and turns, the basic story premise is a massive cataclysm which humbles all of North America and leaves the northern atmosphere full of dust. In addition, the unrest in Egypt figures in, as does the greed of unscrupulous individuals.
Borg's characters all grow in this book, some in ways more pleasant than others.
Against the backdrop of catastrophe, the chief characters make risky decisions for their own survival. You will also find a love story with a few smaller ones inside it. While not graphic, the lovemaking scenes are satisfying and add to the hopes and fears of the characters.
Another solid read by Inge Borg. I peek in at her blog from
time to time, and waited for Cataclysm to come out. When it did, it didn't
disappoint. Borg has become one of my favorite indie historical fiction
authors. Don't miss her books.
I can't say it enough - Ms Borg is a wonderful writer who weaves an intricate tale with so much going on! I loved this installment as we are now having the Russians thrown in for good measure... as well as a group who think they have the answer to the Earth's population problem. The lovable characters go through quite an ordeal... and we meet some unsavory types where you hope they get what's coming to them... and... there are some spots were I was giggling at the tongue in cheek humor! :)

If you like sea stories, adventures, or good books to read,
Inge Borg's Crystal Curse is for you. This might be her best and most fun book
yet.
This
book is definitely one to read. It has action, conspiracies, Pirates,
and Egyptian artifacts. I was blown away by the complexity of the story
and the attention to detail that the author has. I loved how the story
had so many twists and turns!! It keeps you guessing until the very end.
I would highly recommend reading this book.
It is the last one of a
series, so I would also suggest reading all of them. I received a
complementary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Here is another hard-earned Verified Purchase Review randomly deleted by Amazon...Why? No idea (luckily, I had copied it).

Take one measure of Dan Brown, one measure of Russell
Blake, shake thoroughly and pour. Toss in an olive and a twist, and you have
author Inge H. Borg.
Once again, Ms Borg has beautifully blended politics, history, current events, and thrills in "The Nile Conspiracy".
Simply put, a dam is built on the upper highlands of the Nile River, the ancient and modern lifeblood of Egypt, threatening to choke off all downstream flows of water. Egypt has other ideas. Plots and schemes layer mystery and thrills throughout this story, bringing real-life politics into the plot. But there is so much more to this book than dams and helicopters; conspiracy, love, adventure, lost treasure, and a host of conflicting characters from far and wide, all meet somewhere along the Nile, eventually flowing into the Mediterranean Sea.
